Hopefully ableton can implement support for 32 Bit floating point files AIFF etc
I only found out becuase a file saved at that bitdepth was not recognised in the browser of live and could not be playedback.

Live 5 is supposed to support this.
are you sure that the file is not corrupt? what sample rate is it?
i have several 32-bit/fp .aif files (@ 44.1khz and 96khz) that load just fine in Live 5.0.1

Thats strange I did think live 5 had added support for this as well.
Basically I cannot playback any exported audio if I choose to export it as 32 Bit Float.
I am using SX sometimes and today I have set export to 32 Bit but for some reason live says they are corrupt and will not play them.
The audio files playback fine in everything else but not live.
So I just choose to export the audio as 24 Bit at the moment which live has no problem reading.
Do you think maybe its a slight bug

I have done a bit more messing about and found out that it is the 32 Bit Float Format of Cubase SX 3 that live says are corrupt.
I opened the same file in Peak played back fine then saved it from peak as a 32Bit file and live had no problem reading it afterwards.
So I wonder whether SX 32 Bit Float is different to a normal 32 Bit File?
I noticed in peak it had FL32 in the compression box. This must be referring to the Floating Point.I think that is whats causing the problem.

email these findings to

Hi kineticUk,
the header of some 32 bit compressed aiff files seems to have some inconsistent information. But the current beta Live 5.0.2b3 should already be able to handle this. Can you give it a try?

Thanks Alex
I checked this with the beta and there were no problems with the beta playing the 32 bit files back.
