Hi folks,

Mac: http://www.ableton.com/_common/download ... e502b4.dmg
Win: http://www.ableton.com/_common/download ... e502b4.zip
Please send all beta related feedback to [email protected].
Current version: Live 5.0.2b4
Expire date: 2005-09-13
This versions has also some limitations:
- No manual is included
- No content is included
This version has enabled our bug reporter.
You will notice it when restarting Live after experiencing a crash.
Furthermore the Windows version has additional debug code to dump
information into the log file. Therefore the Windows version is a bit
slower as the final version (something between 5% to 15%).
When starting live 5.0.2b4 for the first time it should open the Beta lesson
which also contains the change log.
Kind Regards,
Alex
Change log Live 5.0.2b3 - 5.0.2b4
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Improvements
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Increased number of entries in "Open Recent" menu from 8 to 30.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[01] Bug: "Beat Repeat" Device
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
The "Beat Repeat" effect device would stop repetitions on each global song jump.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[02] Bug: VST on dual monitor systems
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: Windows
When placed VST Editor Windows on a second monitor the position would be lost when reopening the windows the next time.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[03] Bug: Re-save a self-contained Live set
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
When a copy of a self-contained set would be saved the self-contained flag would still set despite the fact that the copy is not self-contained.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[04] Bug: Name of the sounds folder
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
Live would truncated names of sounds folders of sets with names longer than 24 characters.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[05] Bug: Offset of unlinked envelopes
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
When dragging the left edge of a looped arranger clip to the left, we move the start markers of all unlinked envelopes to the left by the same amount; however, if this causes the start marker to pass the loop start, it got stuck there. We now wrap it around correctly again.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[06] Bug: Clip view: Start and end markers navigating
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
When moving the loop to the right, and the start marker is inside the loop, we move the start marker to the right to fold it into the new loop again. If this causes the start marker to end up to the right of the end marker (which is not allowed), we move the end marker to the right. Before this update, we used to move it only as much as necessary, i.e. it would end up 1/16 to the right of the start marker, which feels strange; we now move it all the way to the end of the clip, so that it is out of the way.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[07] Bug: Move tracks with running clip
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
When moving a track containing a playing clip the clip would stop.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[08] Bug: Opening Live 3 or 4 sets
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
Under certain conditions Live could crash when opening Live set with .asd files saved in Live 4 or 3 and the corresponding audio file itself got shorter.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[09] Bug: Dropout at MP3 decoding
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
There could be a dropout at the end of a mp3 decoding.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[10] Bug: Opening Aiff audio files
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
Some Aiff audio files with invalid tags could not be opened.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[11] Bug: Space for MP3 decoding
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
Live would not decode MP3 if the system is unable to find out the free disk space, which happens sometimes on Windows XP, and often on Window98.
Status: Fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[12] Bug: Space for Content packages
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: All
Live would not install content packages if the system is unable to find out the free disk space, which happens sometimes on Windows XP, and often on Window98.
Status: Fixed
