that's a known bug of the TC plug, however they refuse to fix it...

This bug drives me nuts, I now name each track with the TC compressor sidechained to "SC-HERE" so i know to re-click each one every time i load the project!
Does the voxengo one do sidechaining?
wait... i just realized that I could either wait 4 hours for a response here, or get a response in 4 seconds with google.

crunchessor has sidechain (and you only need one instance of the plug)
check the demo!

i think the tc native comp is the only proper sidechainable comp live users can have on osx at the moment. on pc there's the voxengo crunchessor, kjaerhus has a good comp with sidechain / key input and i think there are at least a few more than that. AFAIR voxengo guy has been talking about having the osx ports of their product line done this year though, we'll see how it goes.
the problem with the tc native pack is that tc has discontinued the whole product some time ago already which means you might get support for your product but there will probably be no more updates to it and it isn't sold anymore.
i think the tc native bundle stuff is bound to lose other settings too - the reverb doesn't seem to save patch data with the song at least. it's a pity since tc native verb plus is still one of the soft verbs i like the most.
