THOSE ECHO CARD PROBS... Re macs

Ok mac heads, just needed to bring this up again as a new topic before it got buried cause I think theres a serious issue with the Echo dj and io cards and the pci chip sets of some powerbks.

The chipset type is in the top left of card column.
I have a pwrbk 1.5 g4 currently 10.3.9 Live 4.1.4. Its chipset identifies as TXN,PCIXXXX-00
I also have an older TiBk 500 os 10.3.3 Its chipset identifies as TXNPCI1211-00.
So anyway I first started having problems with the card about 9 months ago. I posted this on the ableton forum and others back in Feb.

Echo Indigo IO card/PB 1.5 Problems

I recently purchased a new pwrbk 1.5 gHZ G4 OSX 10.36,(now 10.3.9) latest Echo driver v1.3. I appear to be having some compatibility problems with my Echo Indigo IO card.
First, if the card is inserted into the PCMCIA slot before booting, the laptop will not boot past
grey screen.
However, if the card is inserted after bootup, but before application launch, then the card is recognised.
The second and perhaps more serious problem occurs when, having selected the drivers in my software and am monitoring the sound out of the Indigo, there is a noticable digital noise/hum coming from the outputs.
But when I use the card in my older laptop (Powerbook Titanium G4 500 OSX 10.33, same drivers) there is no digital noise/hum, only clean audio. (It also boots up fine with the card already inserted).
I have spoken to one top audio/hardware computer tech support person. He says he has heard of this issue with the new powerbooks and the Echo Indigo card/s. He feels that the problem might lie with the chipset on the Powerbook PCMCIA board (or something like that).
I have contacted Echo and they have suggested that it might be a faulty card.
I don't feel I should have to buy a new audio card/interface to solve this problem as I like my Indigo card very much. Has anyone heard of/had similar problems? Particularly with the pwrbk 1.5?
I would appreciate anyone's feedback on this.
OK!!..So..Back to the present... Now that these card probs are starting to become more common.The only thing I havent tried is os 10.3.3 on the newer pBK. But Id rather hope its not that. and it would probably screw up stuff. Anyway maybe Echo should look into this and come up with a Mac- Fix patch as they did for the ENE PC chipset incompatibility issue
Id appreciate any further thoughts anyone has..Ill also email Echo
