Live 5.01 losses MIDI Clock sync

I've tried using Live 5.01 as the MIDI Clock slave to follow the tempo set by a hardware Gibson Echoplex. MIDI is coming in through a XP MIDI-link USB interface.

Problem:
Every now and then Live looses the tempo sync and keeps on playing, but now out of tempo. An error message pops up saying "lost MIDI Clock sync".

The original tempo is changing, usually 100 or 50 percent. Obviously Live can not follow those tempo changes.

I'm now looking into an alternative to Live for this project, but in the future I will check every new Live upgrade to see when it is being fixed.

Have the exact same problem. Very poor performance when trying to sync live with another sequencer program. Maybe lasts for about 5 minutes before it starts to come off tempo.

Last year I had a hardware Repeater (four track loop sampler from Electrix Pro). It had an awesom sync follow functinality. If it could not manage to time-stretch the loops in a high tempo it hooked up to a multiple of the given tempo and kept on playing. Musical all the way, even when failing to follow a too fast tempo. i loved it!

Live does not hook up to a multipel of the tempo - it just plays some wrong tempo by random.

I have a bunch of MIDI timing problems too. If you switch off PDC does that help? I find that nothing stays in sync as long as PDC is on.

PDC doesn't work when Live is following tempo. Just check it out, the option is greyed out at the menu.

I feel so ashamed....

Hi folks,

are you able to reproduce this easily with a certain tempo change curve?
What are the start and the end tempo of this curve?
Does it makes a different when changing the tempo faster or slower?

regards,
Alex
