I'm conducting an interview with Ableton this week for my website http://www.nervoustestpilot.co.uk, and I'm putting up a call for questions you guys would like to have me put to them. Please post them in this thread. Time is very tight, so I'll only be accepting questions for a couple of days. Thanks in advance.

"In a broad sense, Do you plan to take Ableton Live in more of a "live usability" direction, or a "DAW" direction? Or, do you think it can be all things to all people?"

Ableton instruments and effects are very intuitive and conveniently placed in the track view which eliminates the need to occupy extra GUI space with free floating plug in windows. I question if there has been any consideration in negotiating with third party soft synth manufacturers (ala NI, Arturia etc.) to create exclusive instruments and effects for Live?

Who would win in a fight: the toughest guy at Ableton or the toughest guy at Propellerheads?

1) How do they feel about the potential limitations of room: does it pose a threat to the live aspect of the interface as more DAW components are incorporated?

2) How about use of CC's? Afterall, Live was crafted in max/msp right?

3) Vector graphics implementation: If the abilty to to change pitch/time is anything like manipulating vector graphics, I can very easilly imagine a very well streamlined animation function. I would be particularly interested in a visually generated, vector graphics component to work with Operator, grain delay, beat repeat, etc (after all, I am selfish, and a visual thinker :) .

I know a lot of us want video implementation, though I sometimes find animation appropriate for electronic music

1) why do you release upgrades in the summer? summer means holidays. are you masochists?

2) do you feel you have built a special relationship with your customers? was that planned?

Where does the name "Ableton" come from? Does it mean anything? (Great name by the way!)
