24 minute .wmv of Richie Hawtin, live at Gorod club, Moscow.
Looks like he has either SSL or FSL set up on the other notebook but doesn't use it.
Thanks to Ukawa at 4four for originally posting these links.
24 min video, 64 megs:

Link to the entire set in mp3, about 5 hours 15 minutes running time.

**Note, the ( seems to terminate the url, but if you copy/paste the entire url into your browser window the set will play. Not sure how to get it down that way, I tried [url= [/url and [url [/url but the ( ) symbols are throwing it off.
Here are megaupload links if anyone want to brave it, thats how I brought it down. Long and slow download, if its still active, but if you are going out just start it and by the time you get home it should be done.
It's a great set.

Not sure if they are still active.

Thanks for putting these up.
One way to get them to download (rather than just play in your browser) is to make a Word doc, type a word, select it, insert hyperlink, paste this in as a link, save as a web page, open it in your browser, and viola. I mean voila. You can then right click on it to save the linked file.
Cheers.

Good idea dave. Take heed to what he says and avoid the megaupload links like the plague.

or (since i'm a forums whore), i've found to post a reply to any topic in a forum with the link in your reply, and click PREVIEW instead of SUBMIT, on the following page you'll get an active hyperlink you can save as from.
then, just disregard the post.

i think that video shows just how handy the small-sized Faderfoxes can be in a DJ booth. Hawtin seems to use it as more of an extension of the DJ Mixer, and i had never thought of them that way.
interesting.

That doesnt seem to work adam, least not in safari. As soon as the parenthesis start it terminates the link, truncating it. You may notice if you hold your cursor over the link only part of the link will highlight.
Or is this just a safari thing? or even worse, just a smutek thing????

yay love richie hawtin I really wanna see him dj at Fabric this month, missed him at Glade festival but caught Carl Craigs set which was amazing, wouldnt be surprised if he used Live himself. Lets hope I can somehow make some money magically appear!
As for what song he's playing first, well I wouldnt be surprised if it was just an original piece written for the set, sounds like he uses a track for each 'instrument' bass drum snares etc also looks like it when camera zooms in.
Any ideas on his setup?
it looks like an ordinary mixer to me, does he have each Track assigned to a seperate output on his soundcard then put into the mixer, then using the fader fox for effects like delay etc? close or am I way off the mark?

I dont think that is an ordinary mixer. It looks like his CTRL:92 or a variant of that to me.
he's affecting sound via that mixer too, right? Not just the fader foxes? I can't really tell.
rob.

yep, looks like it...
altho overall, i don't find the vid very impressive, or the stuff he's playing but I guess that just comes down to personal taste...

Does Jeff Mills use Live too? This looks really hard to do..How does he mix as I see he uses no headphones?
What was this old school acid stomper about 11 minutes in the video 1.?
I like that blonde girl as well that comes in the video later as well.

Maybe I should watch this, too. I didn't realize Live DJing could have that effect!
