didnt understand what u said in that post u speak of. let me see if i get u correctly-
so, i want to record the knob movements that i tweek as i am tweeking them in clip mode.
i pick a vst, this one microtonic, and drag it into the clip veiw, press play.
i then want to add another midi channel. add midi channel. now, here is where u lost me( i understand the logic, but it doesnt seem to work like u say)
i set the other channel to output midi to the microtonic channel? what? output?
wouldnt i want to have that channel recording what im doing in the microtonic channel? that would make sense, but it doesnt seem to work.
thanx anyway.

thanx....i found another way of doing it, but also cant get this way to work either.
i can record a loop of me tweeking in the arrangement veiw, but then i should be able to drag that into the sessions veiw. but that doesnt work either. seems like this should be simple. i should just be able to drag the midi info over from
arrangement to session right? but when i do, all the midi info is gone?
ahhh

i also put a midi clip under the slot that reads '<---' and set it's length to 256

then i switched it to record, hit play and recorded 5mins of controller tomfoolery

worked fine for me

I replied in the other thread .. you don't need to do this, there is a much much simpler solution.
