....I may have lost a whole days work....

---------------------------------------
M-audio - Firewire 410

Live 5

Windows XP, no service packs
---------------------------------------

here is the story....

everything has been working fine so far, I save my set as self contained, no problems, i then do "save as" another name to another folder as a backup, Live says "your set is no longer self contained", no problems, THEN, i go to file menu, recent opened sets, and re open the original set. The set loads completely but imedialey informs me that there has been a "serious program error". no matter what i click (ok/cancel) the box will not go away. I can no longer acces Live. I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL.

reboot.

restart live, live says there was a crash, do i want to recover my work. I select yes. same problem.

reboot

restart live, try to open the original file from the menu, same problem,

reboot

restart live, try to open the backup file i created, same problem.

Live still opens for normal use, and all other sets still open too. its just these two. The last backup I saved that worked was yesterday and I've just done 8 hours work on this project today. please save me!!!!!!!!!!

yup absolutely, was gonna post a request along these lines soon myself...

i reckon something like logic's backup system is mad, where it keeps the last X number of saves as individual projects...

Yep, Pro Tools does this too. I think everyone would welcome this feature. Maybe we can even get it in V 5.03 ?!?! please!!!!!!!!! I don't know anything about how u guys make software, but it doesn't seem like a major adjustment. You could even have th e option to turn it on/off. and set the time between auto saves.

I agree strongly. The auto backup of sessions in Pro Tools is a great feature. I would like very much for live to have this as well.
