Live 5.0 & Novation X-Station Experience

As an Ableton-Newbe i just purchased an Novation X-Station to control all those nice knobs and features with my new controllerkeyboard. Well it just not almost works the way I hoped to.
First of all it is impossible to control such important parameters like start, end values. The problem is that the resolution ist not fine enough to set those markers on every 1/16 note you want to. The poti on the novation makes for example the markers move in 3/16 steps making it sometimes even impossible to grab the beginning (the 1) of a bar!!
While I thougt I could define a controllerset for operator once and then will be able to use that in every operator in the selected track it works a little bit different and almost anti-intuitive! Ableton does not care which track is selected. The controllers are always linked to that single operator unit. To control another operator you have to define other controllers. That does not make any sense to me. Thank god it works for the clipparameters.
I never figured out how to feedback the values of parameters into the novation so I can see those in the displays especially for the continous (incremental) controllers on the novation.
Maybe i did something wrong. There are lot of settings to choose from either at lives controllerparameters (absolute, absolute 14 Bit, Relative…..) and at novations programming interface. But until now the combination of live and novation is a bitter disapointment.
Is there anybody who has more experience in using a controllerkeyboard with live? How is it working?
