containers

Hey guys,
it'd be cool if you could make "containers" that could contain sets of... things, for example clips. This way you could prepare sets of clips from a given song and just drop them all into the performance quickly and easily. They could be manipulated as a whole, e.g. you could punch in a container to have it run the first loop inside it, and then follow any actions possible. But mainly, it's a wish of being able to have sets of loops.

You could have containers for effects - take an ensemble of FX and save it as one whole preset. Ownage. :)

You could have containers with whole arrangements - make a few arrangements and mix them on the fly. :)

Also, regarding FX: one thing I desperately need is to be able to add effects turned off (bypassed). No good adding an untuned effect to the mix. Maybe I'm dumb but I've searched for it in the manual and around Live menues and I can't find an option like this.

And one more wish regarding those FX - perhaps a small "wet/dry" knob in the effect's title bar? Like the bypass switch. So that all effects can have that (as many many many don't). Pretty please! :D

The "containers" are called Live clips.

Drag any rectangular shape of clips to the browser. Name it. Drag it back in any time you want.

ok, live clips are cool and all, but they only allow you to, pretty much, save an audio track with its settings.

you can't make device/effect ensembles to drop into an audio track's fx chain, for example...

hi cheater,
er... yeah I think you can. In L5 you can make a chain of devices and effects with your own settings. Then use that chain in any track and rearrange the order of devices and then re-save it as something else if you want. I'm sure you can do this - I only say "I think you can" because I haven't yet done it myself.

Hope that's good news.
:)

select all devices you want to, then right-click on the title bar and do "group devices". then you can save with that little floppy disk icon.
