zooming clip freezes Live for a moment

it's happening on both of my computers (desktop - Intel and laptop - AMD).
track (mp3) is already analized, i put the clip into live, it's loading for a while and if i try to zoom in the clip during that time, Live freezes for 10-20 seconds.
it still plays the song which is running, but i have to wait for a while to see everything's back to normal again.
i'm using 5.0.1 version. graphic cards (i guessed this could be a problem) are Ati Radeon 9200 and 9600.
anyone else expirienced something like this?

this happens to me too. and my system is pretty damn modern.
whenever i zoom in close (something like 1/64ths or 1/128ths..) on a waveform in arrangement view the GUI goes to shit. like when i want to copy and paste a drumhit to mimic a roll i can hit ctrl+d 10 times and it will take live a good 5 or 10 seconds to catch up. really annoying the piss outta me

:(:(
live 4 had zero problems like this.

"5 or 10 seconds to catch up"
You're lucky... I can go make a cup of coffee, come back and my multi ctrl-D will just be finishing.

this happens to me sometimes, the solution is to restart. If my system has been on all day and just sitting there, when I come home to use Live I have to restart so that freezing doesnt happen. Give it a try.

I already posted a thread about this problem titled "GUI performance decrease in Live 5.01 vs. 4.14 + RAM issues". This is definitely a big problem with Live 5.01. It makes beat matching two tracks for DJ mixes extremely frustrating, especially since it was not a problem in version 4.14. I tried installing more RAM to combat it and thought that I had helped it out a bit until I discovered another problem; using the RAM button consistently crashes Live 5.01 with large clips pretty much right away. I am emailing support directly to let them know that this needs to be fixed, but anyone else who is having this problem should reply to this forum. This is a severe handicap which needs to be resolved ASAP.
