Ableton Install Problem (maybe pulsar 2 prob)

Ok, i was having problem booting ableton up, the problem was solved by turning off my PCs hibernation settings.

Now, before i deactivated the hibernation setting, i tried re-installing Live thinking that might help solve it.

Now when i'm trying to open Live (fresh from the install) I'm getting this message:

'Cannot start software because board(s) or driver not properly installed. Please check installation.'

Ableton will then carry on loading (scanning vst's), and then NOT open..

I'm guessing by board its refering to my pulsar 2 dsp card. but other software i'm running (soundforge & audacity) is working fine, so there doesn't appear to be any problem with pulsar2 as far as i can see.

any ideas on this?..

any help will be much appreciated. my studio time seems to be filled with one thing going wrong after the other at the moment and its starting to take it toll!!

Hi there again DFENS...I use a Pulsar with Live so may be able to help...

Have you got an ASIO module in your Pulsar startup project? Soundforge and Audacity may be using the Wave module, so that would explain why they work and not Live. Do you see Scope listed under ASIO in the Live audio setup?

hi husker

yep, i got ASIO setup in my pulsar project window

i cant tell you whether scope in listed in ableton's audio setup window because Live won't boot up.

when it was working yesterday scope did appear in Live's audio set up window. i think it was PULSAR WAVE that it was going through - not ASIO. if memory serves..

sounds like you need to delete your preferences.cfg file, you should then be able to start Live again and setup the ASIO.
