I think Live Clips in 5 are the best thing since sliced bread but it doesn't appear to be possible to drag multiple Live Clips from the browser into a track in session view, like you can do with normal sound files.

Am I missing something as this is a bit of a fly in the ointment?

You have to decide if you want to be able to drag a set of clips. Or just a clip.
If you want a set of clips. Then select all those clips. Drag them in the browser. And they will be saved as .als file.
You can drag that .als file back into Live which contains the multiple clips.

thanks for the reply hoffman. i didn't know you could do that, and that is useful BUT it's not quite what i'm after.

i want my live clips to behave like i'd chopped up the original file into 'intro' 'break' etc etc.

it's no biggy but i can't see a good reason why it's not possible technically for the abes to implement it like i (and i assume many others) would want it.

Mostly because Ableton probably assumes that you have different effects on every Liveclip.
If they would allow it. It would work for some clips. And you would have problems with others depending on the instruments and/or effects used for the clip.
That behaviour would be more confusing then just having to drag the clips one by one.

But like i said. Experiment with saving groups of clips.
You can even recall follow actions that way
