hi,
when i render a 30 second song with 15-18 tracks(AUDIO+MIDI), reason in the
background and all live plugs, i get audio crackling and pops at the beggining of the render.
this happens most of the time especially when i've had the software open for
an extended period of time. sometime it will render fine but only when i first
launch live.
any ideas?

ok obvious things firsst, but do you still get the same crackles if you have a space of say 8 bars at the start of your track before anything happens..
And can you set a sort of pre-roll of a couple of seconds (might basically give everything a chance to sort itself out before doing what it needs toP)...

i have rendered a couple of times before with some space before. it's hit and miss.
sporatic. the whole idea is to have a dependable render function. i want to render from my selected regions so i don't have to edit the render in another program later on.
i'll have to use the resample still.

I'm getting this now as well. Never had a problem, but i updated to 5.0.2 and now i have popping issues as well and even songs that wont render fully. Either its aq blank file or it cuts the song off half-way through..
Im going back to 5.0.1, i didnt see much in this update that really affected how i use Ableton anyway.. Just seem to make it worse for what i need it for..

I get the half rendered file problem all the time. The only solution I've found is to select all the audio files in the arrange view and load them into ram. This wont work if you have a low RAMMY machine though...

Well, i figured out that the popping noise was coming from a track in a group of tracks that were going to a sub mix. Meaning, 3 tracks outputs were being sent to one track so the volumes can be adjusted on all three at once with one fader. But this popping would only happen on the rendered version of the song. I NEVER heard it while it was running on playback.
Took them out of the sub group and the popping stopped. Even had popping after i went back to 5.0.1.. Never noticed that problem before..
This rendering to disk issues seems to happen when you've been working on a track for awhile and decide render it after some time has pass with the program open.
The only solution i have found is too close the program, saving your work, and restart the program and open the song and render it to disc first thing.. But sure is a pain in the ass. Ill tell you that.. And this is happening in 5.0.1, so i don't think it has anything to do with 5.0.2 at all. Just my observation though..
Might have something to do with using it more as a standard multi-track recorder in arrangement mode with 15+ tracks going.. + Returns and effects on tracks.. Thats just a speculation though. I use ableton like a standard Multi-Track Recorder and i have some tracks with 20+ tracks plus 6-8 returns going at once.. And various single effects on tracks.. And i seem to get this problem on those bigger tracks. Its a bummer to say the least.

Please, people whow have this problem, post here if you get the crackling when rendering with the program recently opened. I´ll be trying it today and post my results later. Thanks.

I'm now getting popping in my latest renders too. Is it like an actual 'pop' with a lot of high end with you guys?

i wonder if we would get a clean render with native LIVE plugs
and clean audio (no clicks or pops on regular playback).
i'll check later.
maybe some of these 3rd party "free plugins" are causing this issue.
