I start an electronics course next fall. I'm paranoid now. 8O

I was trying to fix a loose electric baseboard heater once and accidentally touched the 220V line with my screwdriver. I was laying flat on the ground when it happened, so that didn't help. OUCH! It knocked the wind out of me.

I took 240 in NZ once, my little brother was supposed to unplug one end of the extension cord so I could take the other end off to fit it through the louvres. He didn't. I ended up eight feet across the garage on a bunk bed. Not nice.

Needless to say I was severly pissed.

the main power is dangerous but a capacitor is a blody good laugh (some are quite big tough) ,
if you feel like going home during your course try to over load a capacitor ,it will start liquing this weird paste & the smell that comes out of it is so strong that everyone will have to leave the room .

I put my tongue across the terminals of a 9v battery once, it was a duracell too! It gave me quite a nasty little tingle.
