Live's Mackie Control implementation?

Does anyone have any references to how Live implements Mackie Control?

The general stuff I can probably find, but there must be live specific things to trigger clips, scenes etc.

The reason I'm asking is that a selective mackie control implementation could make an awesom live live (eh) controller, without the need to do a lot of pre assignments in the template.

Just to be able to scroll track, scene and then fire the selected clip without any pre assignments would be a great start!

John Pitcairn's Xmu is pretty fantastic, though I haven't had the chance to figure out the extent of it's applicication.

I am sort of passive agressively waiting for someone else ot post something on it since I'm overwhelmed by school at the moment, but I will check into eventually. It is a wonderful app though. What it can do on my microkontrol seems more efficient (with exception to the motorized faders) than some of what my tascam fw1884 can.

I would like to see this thread get long. I am not comfortable enough with MCE to read between the lines of most of what has been posted. Perhaps this is a result of frustration acquired from trying to get it running first in Logic. I only go into Logic to get what I need and leave now, and I'm cool with that. Live is where I prefer to live.

Well, you could try reading the Mackie Control section of the Live 5 PDF manual...

From memory, trigger clip/scene are on the zoom and scrub buttons, and you navigate among tracks/clips with the cursor buttons, and among scenes with the jogwheel, while in session view.

A Live "overlay" for the righthand side buttons would be useful - I don't think Mackie are offering one yet (?)

read yesterday on the Mackie site that one is being developed, and will be available soon.

The Mcu works great with live although I still feel that there are some things missing , like capure scene and a way to select timezones in arrangement , there are specific buttons for punch in/out and loop on it , but those don't make much sense for "mousefree operation" unless you can also select which part you like to loop or punch in/out.
