Channel Name Assignments

Post by Opz » Sun Oct 23, 2005 5:46 pm

Hi There,

I was trying out Live (5.0.1) and i noticed that the input- and outputnames of my Motu 828 mkII are not correctly named. They should be named Analog Out/In x, Main Out, Mix Bus 1, Phones etc. But they are simply named Input 1 to ... and output 1 to ...

As i've understood from the manual of my motu, it's not a problem on a Mac. Is this something that's only Windows related? And if so, is it a problem with the Motu drivers (which i doubt), an Ableton Live problem (which i hope, as it's probaly the easiest way to resolve the problem) or is it Windows again? I think i read once that Sonar does not have this problem anymore which would indicate that the problem is within Live rather than Windows

Another problem maybe is the fact that the amount of in/outs change when i assign the headphones to it's own dedicated out. This makes the available outputs increase with one stereo pair. And this can be done on the fly/realtime, so maybe that's too tricky for Live?

Are there more people who have this problem?
