live 5 can play wav, aiff or mp3, but will only render files as wav (search for render in the pdf manual). you can then burn the wave files to a cd using burning software (like nero or toast) as an audio cd, or use another program to re-render them as mp3's for an mp3 player.

Make sure you're setting the song loop to encompass everything you want to render.
Getting to the mp3 version!

My process (on a Mac) is:
1 - export the song as an audio file (aiff or wav) from live.
2 - import it into iTunes and convert the file to mp3
3 - whack it onto your iPod or burn it to cd
Voila. Cheers then.

Yep, this will probably be the problem. I do it myself sometimes, forget to highlight the whole track and end up rendering just a little bit.
