Argh, I've posted one post. No one really helped. Let's try this again.
When I render a track it renders it with either no sound or sound in only just one speaker. WHAT'S UP WITH THIS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I'm running 5.02 on a powerbook G4 15" 1.5ghz with 2 GB RAM
HELP HELP HELP

use the search!

seriously, this has been done many times before.
quickest solutions:
a. select ALL your audio clips and load them into RAM
b. set a track to resample and let it play through the entire song.
hope it helps, i totally feel your pain.

I can't render my songs in 5.x. It works just fine in 1-2-3 and 4.x, but not in 5.x. Even if I got all tracks loaded into RAM-mode, and no midi or freeze. Audio only, consolidated to let go of the complex/all other than "beat"-mode; So all my tracks are in "beat"-mode and loaded into RAM (got 2G 400mhz ram), running UAD-1 (versj.4) as the only vsts, Yamaha mLAN2 -singing just sweet.. My OS is XP pro SP2, cpu: Intel 3.2 Prescott, MSI 875P NEO-FIS2R motherboard AND my "active audio"-drive is 10 000rpm (s-ata). Plus VIA 1394 Host Controller to run the mLAN2-system.
Just wrote it down if any got any issues with the above set. If, Please let me know, so I can finally sleep again! I'm able to render the first bar or so, and then there is total silence..
So whats up, Abes? My DAW is capable to handle real heavy stuff, but not render a song in Live 5.x

I used the search and came up with posts with the same problem....BUT! I want Ableton to know that their product is finicky and needs to be fixed. The more posts on this problem the better I think...

is it possible that you are using a 3rd party plug that ableton doesn't agree with?

when telling of a problem you have you have to try to figure out why your problem accurrs and why it isn't accurring for other people. I haven't had any problems while rendering. therefor you are doing something different than me. or not you directly but your set up is simply different than mine. you have to figure out what is unique to your set up/processes/tools/usage that is causing your audio to not render. otherwise no one can help.
this is really difficult I know.

Well, I am using Battery 2, but that has rendered fine in the past. I am also using automat which is the first time I've used it in a set. Other than that, I don't think I am using any other 3rd party plugs. I'm going to set my automation again and try that work around for the rendering.

And for me, UAD-1 have been so much better after the abes added "delay compensation" in 5.x. No hardcore-routing anymore for powered plugs like UAD-1 & TC PoCo to get the tracs in perfect sync with the rest of the song
I only use "Yamaha Final Master" as unpowered vst -and that one works just brilliant (and it really should, since it's pretty xpensive)
But Live 5.x still won't render my songs
Wake up, Abletonia -don't force us to sell out our Live-5's now, after following your updates (I've done that) since you were born, to switch to another host, or go back to Live 4.x. We must be Able-to finish our work, folks

Rendering worked when I turned CREATE ANALYSIS FILE off

Rendered wav files wouldn't play until I turned CREATE ANALYSIS FILE off.
1. go to session view.
2. go to FILE
3. Click on "Render to disk"
4. Turn CREATE ANALYSIS FILE off.
5. Give it a try on some button near the bottom.
I hope it works for you all....

Well, I have this problem on many tracks. Disable your audio card then render. Master Out / Configure / Driver Type - No Audio.
FYI, I've used many different audio drivers & card combinations....so it's not one particular driver.
Hope that helps!
