Hello everyone,

This may sound a bit "newbie", but I am currently using my registered copy of Live on my desktop computer as a composition tool. Does anyone know if I can also use the same copy on my laptop?

Thanks,
Robert13

has already been touched a few times here on the forum ... shouldn't be a problem ... many people here switch between computers for studio vs. live work

unlock code

the license does not seem to specifically allow serial (one at a time) use on multiple computers by the same user; such use is often spelled out in other license agreements which i have read. i have a mac ibook and a win 2k desktop system. it seems that i would have to unload a new "unlock code" to use live on both systems. so i am waiting for confirmation from ableton.

I have dual boot partitions on my laptop, and I have Live installed on both. Obviously, I'm only using one copy at a time, at least until they invent quantum laptops.

My point: I unlocked one copy online on that partition which has internet access, and one offline on that partition which doesn't. In both cases, the automated response was sufficient. I didn't have to contact ableton.

I'm guessing that ableton, knowing all the legitimate reasons that you might want to unlock your copy more than once (HD crash, desk & lap machines, dual boot, etc.), have allowed at least two unlocks per copy before customer service intervention is required. I've never tried for more than that.

And even beyond the limits of the automated responses, they (ableton customer service) would probably be willing to at least listen to whatever sob story you could give.
