HOW DO I SIDECHAIN IN LIVE 5?

i was an avid protools fan but i love live 5 its such a great product for studio and live use....hence the name.... but one question i do alot of side chaining how could i sidechain on live does it already have a plugin for this or do i have to download/buy one?

you mean sidechain compression? compressor 2 has a sidechain preset that works without key input. if you mean sidechaining with a key input you need a vst plugin that can do that. theres a few free ones about, and it seems from what i've read that voxengo make some good commercial ones.

it's pretty straightforward, just use your track inputs and outputs to route a feed into the key input and bobs your uncle. :)

I'd recommend mixer volume automation with clip envelope. Works perfect for me, and you never have to worry about the sidechained stuff going crazy loud everytime you leave the trigger sound (kick most often) out.
