M-Audio Trigger Finger

I installed the midi controller and drivers. Connected the trigger finger which installed some more stuff. then it said, "you new hardware is ready to use"
I installed ableton Live Lite 4 for M-audio and the update Live 4.1.4.
When going through the steps to add a midi controller. I can select trigger finger as the input device but whenever i push a button or turn a knob the green indicator light that tells you the device is communicating with Live does not come on.
So how does this thing work exactly?
