I have been gone (since version 2.0) and am curious if this feature is happening yet? I want to record live into live (i have a behringer foot controller) by enabling record clip on my foot controller then when i want to loop it....hit my foot controller and have it loop then continue on creating my tune...live.
as i recall you could do this on a pc with some 3rd party midi apps....but im on a powerbook running tiger. i want to know if i can do this on a mac and if version 5 lets you.
holla back.

Although i still havnt gotten around to playing with is, Plogue Bidule should allow you to do pretty much anything you want. Im sure some others will chime in with more suggestions.
If you havnt already, go to the artist section and watch the Kidbeyond video. He is doing exactly what i think you want to.

try my program midiStroke. Converts midi messages to unlimited keystrokes. Free.
You might mess around with controlAid as well, it is useful for working with footpedals. Also free.

you just have to assign the pedals to midi notes, which Live happily accepts. how to change to a midi note is explained in the oh-so-slim manual that comes with the FCB 1010.
i'm using a powerbook and live 4.
