hi, I'm fairly new to Ableton, I've an iMic USB hub type thing that allows me an input and output, (in mixer/out ableton) and a mic plug on my iBook, where ever I plug the headphones I can't seem to listen to the other channel and I don't seem to get any helpful options in the configure box. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?? I'm sure it's a very simple thing...

are you on mac or PC?
on PC try ASIO4all to help consolidate your Griffin iMic and your internal soundcard, and on the Mac, CoreAudio should have some tools for this.
Otherwise, the iMic is only stereo in/out unit...

Thanks very much for replying.
on MAC. core audio is there, but doesn't seem to do anything. I've selected the iMic as the output audio device in both Ableton and in my system pref's, tried plugging my 'phones into the iMic, which didn't give any sound to them and into my iMac phones socket.
What do you mean by - the iMic is only stereo in/out?

im really hazy about to sleep, but from memory (i used to sell them years ago) the imic wont give you a seperate cue out.
adamjay from memory has made a post about how to use CoreAudio to let you use a sound device such as iMic as your main Ableton outputs and use your internal soundcard as your cueing system.

Use Aggregate Devices in the audio section of Tiger's Audio MIDI Setup. I haven't done it specifically with an iMic, but it should allow you to use both the onboard audio and your iMic together as two separate stereo outs.
