Hi all,

I have this annoying problem with Ableton and i can't find any sollution by myself..Hopefully there's someone out there who can help me.

here it goes then:

Everytime i use ableton i get these strange piano-like noises.
When i start (or shut down) ableton i hear a piano-note.
Lol, I even hear the noise when im working on a piece..but only when i click on things inside the application such as the play button or any kind of instrument (presets, vst...etc..)...

So everytime i try to make a move i get this "Diiinngggg"-sound and well, it's getting me to a slight nervous breakdown i can tell ya!

cheers..

little specifications: I run the latest ableton on my laptop, Xp home edition..i use the M-audio ozone as controller...

any chance that you're looping midi out and back in, if you accidently get a midi feedback loop you can get problems like that.

midi feedback loop?..

Did you switch off all Windows sounds in the "sounds" control panel?
Do you have a virus?

all sounds are off in windows and i'm not using any mackiecontrol..

I tried to reinstall the programm, about 6 times now, it didn't help

Stranely i got no complains about other sequencing progs such as reason and FL Studio.

Sigh....

In the Midi preferences the Microsoft WS software synth shows up, I accidentally selected it under control surfaces and it made a plinky plonky sound. Have a look to see if that doesn't have anything routed to it?

(It is a software synth so Windows can play standard MIDI files and it appears as a MIDI device) I wonder if it should be uninstalled...

found the problem
