I'm using fm7 as a VST and i'm having trouble saving changes i make to the patch. When I open a patch and start playing with it (for instance tweeking some paramaters from the easy page) live does not seem to save the changes witht he set. Once live re-opens the set, fm7 goes back to the patch from which i started. It seems i have to save the changes as a new patch for live to re-load it properly. Which is very anoying since i don't always remember to do this. Anyone having this problem?

AFAIK such little changes doesn't recognice any host.
If you work like this - open session, change a parameter in easy page of FM7, save and close (rellay? ;) - you need only change additionally any little thing in live, too. E.g. turn a pan control and back or move a clip/note/marker ago and back (but don't "undo"). Then save the session again.
The junk of FM7 VSTi should be also re-saved now.
maybe this helps?

Click on the apply button on the easy edit page. That way, it gets stored in the edit buffers...

thats weird this works fine with me.

first I tried it with one of my own synths
This Demo in fact

twiddled a dial saved the Live set, closed, reopened the set and the twiddles were as I left them

So I tried it with FM7 and it was the same

loaded FM7, altered some envelopes , slid some sliders and then saved the live set.

closed live (to make sure any edit buffer was empty)

reopened live and the live set with FM7 in.

the envelope changes were as I left them ... and the sliders were slid & twiddled.

at no point did I 'save' in FM7, only the Live set save command

I don't know why this isn't working for you.

ewistrand's suggestion does the trick. It seems that fm7 somehow handles the changes done on the easy page differently than on any of the other operators. If you make a change to anything from A - Z, Master etc it gets saved with the set (as it should), but for 'easy' settings you must first apply them to the patch. could just be my version though (1.00.004)
