I am seriously concidering to purchase the M-Audio Firewire Audiofile. It is the same one that Ableton offers in its bundles. What I am wondering if there are any comments out there from some people who may already have it or have used it in the past? Also I am curious to hear if there is something else you feel is better or another product you would reccomend.
I currently have a G4 powerbook and will be using it to dj live at a club or party in the future. Please give me your thoughts on the matter, many thanks.

If you are ready for additional firewire specific ASIO latency bias (up to +7 mc in addition to buffer size related latency) then the any good firewire device is the good choice (Audiofile looks to be good). But if the latency is too critical for you I would recommend looking at cardbus interfaces (like simple ECHO INDIGO's or multi-channel E-MU 1616m, or maybe rather expensive RME Multiface).

Do a search of the forum as there are a number of people unhappy with this particular device.

Is the 410 the same model that they are currently selling with the bundles? I checked out the indigo but it wont work for me. My powerbook is a 12" so my audio interface has to be firewire or USB. Can anyone recomend an interface that would be good for me?

I heard that latest firewire M-Audio devices (like 410) have very good AD/DA converters from RME (if it is true). I bought M-Audio Ozonic combo firewire device for my son and it is really good with sound and usability - recommended! I have Echo Audiofire 8 device now and quite happy with it (though the overall ASIO latency could be better...). Also I heard that Presonus does nice firewire interfaces but it's hard to find them outside US.

Does anyone know if the Firewire Audiofile preforms any better or worse than the 410? Any other recomends?
