Hi, it's probably something really stupid that I've missed, but I've been having this reoccuring problem where when I go to render a song from arrangement view, use the bar on top to select the region I want rendered, and then render, live sometimes creates a blank audio aif file. Anyone know why this is happening? (When I play the region selected, it plays fine....) The file rendered is the right length though, just nothing recorded. Thanks for any advice! Ed

are you using an external audio device? live can only render the master not any external routings.

Hi,
You're mentionning the bar at the top of the window, isn't it the loop braces ? Cause that is not what's revelent for the rendered portion. You have to make a selection where the clips are, in the arrangement. The easiest way to begin with is to give one click where all the clips sit and to hit CTRL A, that will selct all clips in the project. Then go to render.
As said, only the Master track gets rendered, if any of your tracks is routed to some external device or program, it won't get rendered. What you get is what you hear through the Master track.
Hope that helps,

I had the very same problem: blank rendered file with only a glitch...
Now I gave up rendering in Live: I resample the mix in a new track to export audio.
I also contacted Ableton and it seems to be depending on third party plugins. Try disactivating them and render. To me this is unacceptable: my plugins always worked in Sonar.
