Please describe a scenario in which you would use Phatmatik in Live? I've read all about it in this board but I still don't fully get why it's great with Live (i.e. what it does that Live doesn't). thanks!

Hi,
I don't use it (yet) but as far as I understand it enables slicing audio and play slices mapped to midi notes, am I wrong ? Which can be very nice indeed !
Cheers,

Lets say you've got a breakbeat that you want to chop up and play with your keyboard. Well, chopping and midi assignments are automated by using a beat slicer. As such it doesn't *do* anything that you can't make live do, it just does it unbelievably fast compared to live.

yes machinate, and doing things speedily and with ease is key in making music, if you find yourself doing things that are painstaking and annoying then your music will end up being more of a chore.
I use phatmatik and loving it. Uses much much less cpu than intakt. damn NI stuff.

Hey Mac users. Are you using the AU or VST version? Yes I know, try the demo's. My Mac is being serviced right now

so........
I'm asking becuase, using Reaktor as an AU makes Live crash, while using as a VST works fine.(for me atleast)

I had some troubles with the vst version, so I use the AU of phatmatik. it ends up in almost every track I do right now.

I can't get contextual menus to work with the Mac vst. Haven't tried the au version yet.
