pops and clicks when rendering. wtf?

i get pops anb clicks and cracks in the rendered wav. the funny thing is that they sync to the tempo and even the beat of the tune (sometimes they appear over every 2 snares, or on each 4th hat), but i have yet to find a pattern. they seem pretty random. and to top it, playback inside live is flawless. only the rendered product is fcuked.

i tried increasing the latency to as much as 100ms or something, but the clicks are still there.

what do you think might be causing this? i haven't had this problem before ever. it kind of frustrates me.

Hi,

as a workaround, try to resample your track to a new audio track. If you hear it well, it should record well... Only a workaround though !
Cheers,

Same problem here with LIve 5.02 (see my sig for specs). Plays perfectly but there are random clicks all over the rendered file. No sample or rate conversion.

wasnt there a thread about this already? I think it *officially* had something to do with 3rd party plugins.

IMO Live is terrible at rendering. The best sound I have gotten (I record acoustic guitar music) is by doing the following: After the recording to a track and adding whatever effects I want in that track (I usually at least use a Waves dither plug in) I "Audio To" that track to another track where that other track is set to record via "Audio From "Resampling"". I can now close "Live" if I want. I then find that track (I usually record in 24 bit 88,200 rate) and convert it to 16 bit, 44100 rate (using dBPower Music Converter or rBrain for example). I am not positive, but I think when recording, etc., I get a better sound with the "analysis" file option turned off.
