FW410 driver problem live vs protools

Hi
I the drivers that came with my FW410 work fine on my osx 10.3.9 powerbook for live however m-powered protools does not regonise them.
When I use the drivers that come with m-powered pro tools that program runs fine but ableton live has severe clicks and pops on recorded audio-
This is seriously annoying as i have to keep loading new drivers every time i want to use the two programs.
Anyone else experienced this and solved it?
