Do all you guys who do Live performances in clubs with a Laptop have just Live and a minimal amount of other programs on it or do you use your Laptop as a total desktop replacement aswell as a Live tool.

I guess what I'm asking is, can you fill a Laptop with loads of programs like Games, sound editors, Photoshop etc and still get a good performance from it in an Ableton live set.

For the most part my laptop is mroe or less dedicted to Live and some websurfing. I also have photoshop installed, but use my desktop for that most of the time anyway. I don't think you're going to run into too many issues running more than a few apps on the laptop.

If you're playing out a lot, then I think it makes more sense to keep thigns lean and mean. It's always in your best interests to minimize as many issues as possible if you're going to be in front of a crowd.
