record arrangement to WAV file ?

Post by Buteskin » Wed Mar 06, 2002 12:05 am

How to save an arrangement into a wav file..

It's not clear to me,
When making a arrangement, what do you do?
Do you select all the tracks, and change them into MASTER OUT, and then you create a new record track with LIVE IN ?

Would you then go to the sessions view, and dubble click on a empty slot in the newly created track and make a new file with LIVE IN(turn MIC in off )?, and wait until arrangement has been played ? This sounds really annoying to do

Why is there no simpler option like a "Render to WAV file" button ?
:?

Check for several existing threads on this subject.

Here's the short answer: make a new track; set the input to Master Out; arm an empty slot button (so you see the red circle); set the quantization to None; start playback by clicking on the slot record button. The trick is that it's supposed to be more like resampling on a sampler; less like exporting a file in cubase.

Yes I tried doing that but that is just to much hassle..although it might work..

My opinion is that this is really a point where Ableton should make an enhancement.

But the software is on version 1.1 and I guess that these "save to wav" option will come in version 2....
