I've been offered a copy of live 5 from an ebay seller with a high feedback rating and normally sells boxed software and hardware. Is it normal to get live 5 copies like this. This is email i got.

At this moment, the single copy of Live 5 have been sold-out. We have a few copies of Single CD with the license key for less. They do not have the boxes, but they are unregistered original software for just $199 + $10 (Shipping).

Any idea if this will be legit?

I would just ask directly by e-mailing Ableton support.

Well you are probably not going to buy it if it's not legit, or you wouldn't be asking the question (and you'd already have a crack running that cost you zero).

Why don't you email the Abletons? The license serial has got to come from somewhere, but it's way below the normal price they sell the program at... so actually no, it doesn't sound legit, but I don't know for sure. Ask the Abes!

*if* it's legit, which is not at all certain at this point, he may be selling you some kind of demo-cd with accompanying registration cd? Which you in turn might as well download from ableton yourself and just get a registration number from the seller

The seller has said that the serial is printed on the cover of the cd.

Could somebody with a retail tell me if there's is like this?

The serial from the seller needs to be sent to Ableton. If it's valid, they'll tell you.
They will issue you a new serial so that the seller cant use the old serial anymore.
So all legit transfers of licenses go through [email protected] if i'm not wrong.

They say the serial is unregistered, so would i need to do this?
