Hi all this is my first post here as I have just purchased Live 5 I'm using Live via Rewire with Logic and i think I'll be using Live as a standalone to its that good.
The question is that when I boot up Logic my Korg Kontrol49 goes automatically into Native mode thus enabling me to control Logic very easily with all the parameters ready to use, the problem is how do I set my Kontrol49 so that I can also use it to control Live when in Rewirw Mode because of the fact that its in Native Mode.
Hope the discription is clear enough and any help appreciated
Thanks
M

I just checked into this.
You will not be able to use the Kontrol49 in native mode, though there are "rumours" that such activity may one day happen. IMO, maybe when 6 comes out.
If you would like to select parameters to control while rewired to Logic, it is the same procedure as selecting procedures in live unrewired. The manual describes this process in plain english.
Welcome aboard!

I'm in Play Mode and have the word Live in the main display window on the 49 but I can't play anything with the keys and can't controi any Encoders or Sliders.
I loaded up the Live template into the 49 and nothings being trasmitted.
My system is just the 49 connected to my G5 with a USB could you confirm the port settings in Live?
Thanks

When in Play Mode with the 49 and Live all the Encoders work as Pans and I can assign all the Sliders manually to the volume sliders in Live but when it comes to the keys on the 49 they are controlling the track/clip start I just want the keys to just be able to play eg the Operator.

either use a mackie control emulation 3rd party software like LC xmi 2.00, or get familiar with how to live midi mapping works. As far as I know, with the exception of devices that naturallly support yhe mackie control protocol and those that run software to pretend they do, you are gooing to have to read the manual and familiarize yourself with how the midi mapping screen works.
If you can't read the manual I will answer your question. It is very easy, but seeing as you have a low post count, and you are familiar with Logic (a much trickier app) I would lke to encourage you to familiarize yourself with the terse yet effective scripture before you develop any bad habits.
Good luck, and feel free to pm me if you are still confused. No, I am not into Sexy boy wonders
