Sell it and get somthing else. I love M-audio, but the thing is crap. It is by far THE WORST interface on the market, especially with live. T There is a discussion every week about someones malfunctioning.

I wish for peoples own good they would stop buying them.

delete all you ghost devices then reinstall the drivers .

unplug the card
go to the device manager ,
do a "show hidden devices , then delete the devices that are of a soft grey color (not the dark grey) in the audio tab .
then reinstal ,it should work now .

also a thing to mention is combinations of things you have [ installed ] on your pc etc..

example here:
i play enemy territory. and its all fine till ive got get right running at the same time, then it just throws me out of the server.

so better uninstall all useless stuff on your computer and try again.

i was thinkin' about buying fw410.. now i doubt.. seemed just what i need..

The one I had is now landfill

Ever seen Pete Townshend of the Who? I did it to that evil little box!

It was the anti-christ.....................

I now have the audiphile 192, have not had any problems so far (of course these don't work for lappy's.........)

Some people... other people

Some of my friends have zero problems with the 410.

I, on the other hand, have had it crash my desktop and laptop when using it. Finally had to give up on it.

Ya, theres no doubt people get by with it fine. If everyone had problems, they would pull it. It just happens to have an exponentially larger amount of neagtive comments related to it compared to other devices.

I sent mine back, they shipped it back saying nothing was wrong with it.

That is after using it UNsuccessfully on 5 different computers.

Plus, for those of us who bought it in the beggining, the driverupdates/known issues is a false statement. They changed all the dates of the issues to make it look like some of that is fairly new...........in reality it's all day one.

may be do the same with the midi drivers if you have not done it yet .

also ,have you disabled the windows driver ?

anyway you should have an m-audio midi extenstion in the system devices in the device manager , if it's not there the driver is not there .

the first thing i have learnt when i installed my first soundcard is to install the card on a clean setup , it was an m audio audiophile , it took me a week to get it working ,the trick was to install the soundcard before instaling any other card and before instaling any audio sequencers .

maudio drivers are crap , that's why i don't even look at maudio when i need new gears ,the latest releases of their driver say they improved the midi support ,it means it was a problem & they still have not sorted it out ,just improved a little .
