I don't know whether this is intended or not, but since Ableton hasn't mentioned anything I'll just assume the best, that it's a bug.

This bug is simple:

1. Load a clip of say 2 bars.

2. Set the loop start/end brackets on the last bar.

3. Try to drag the loop offset marker to the clip start.

You'll notice that you can't drag the loop offset marker outside of the loop brackets.

No you can't ... just like you can't drag the startmarker b4 or after the loop to create 'silence'

I know you now that you can't, but is it intended? This is what the manual says:
The Offset Marker represents the point in the sample where the clip starts playing. To adjust this, drag the offset marker left or right.
As you see, it's not clear from the above whether a bug is preventing correct functionality of the offset marker or not.

Thanks for the reply

No version of Live since 1.0 was able to do that . It's always relative to / within the loopregion you selected .... there have been several wishlistfeatures [including myself 8) ] asking for multiple looppoint feature .. so it's save to assume it was intended or at least a limitation on the way this part was programmed

Well I guess that all I can do is hope for a nice surprise update with this functionality. Seems relatively simple compared to some other request, since the feature is already almost there (offset marker). So how about it ableton gurus?
