Clip view mm:ss marker

How come the clip view's time scale doesn't slide when you effectively shorten a clip by reducing it's original BPM relative to the song BPM? You can make a 6 minute tclip play through in 1m30s but it still shows it as being 6 minutes long in the clip view...
