Can anyone recommend any good components for building a pc for running audio? Processor, sound card etc...

I have very little knowledge on this and was going to buy a ready built audio pc but a friend of mine can build pc's and reckons he could spec one for me for less money, i just need to tell him what components i want in it.

My budget is around £400-600 for the pc.

When you decide on components motherboard etc make sure you thoroughly search all the PC forums to see if there are any problems.

For desktops AMD=bang for the buck, seems to be favoured by all the gamers/freaks who build their own, the AMDs score very well in the Live performance tests as well.

Get the fastest CPU you can afford. Live likes fast computers!
