Since these are such hot sellers these day, I thought it might be apropriate to post this poll. Since I intend to operate live while drumming (yes I know- how very Phil Collins of me) I think the faders might work a little better, but the price cut and efficiency of space on the BCR is fantastic looking!

Well, what would you do?
If you are an owner of either I will multiply your vote by two (in my head... Like Chuck Norris)

i'll be a redundant nerd, and repeat my most recent post:
the two bcr units i use are chained...one runs in usb mode 4, the other in stand alone mode 3 with midi in and out run to the first. it works flawlessly, sending and receiving data. basic setup for performance is: one is set up with preset 1 being a basic 8 channel mixer, top push-encoders are volume/push for mute with 3 aux sends, buttons are for up to 16 scene triggers, preset 2 is the same for the push encoders, the others are for 3 band eq(if needed, enabled by assigned channel button)... the second bcr preset 1 is up to 8 controls for aux returns (gain and mute on push encoders), fx control parameters on the rest, and up to 16 more assignable scene triggers. preset 2 is assigned to completely control operator parameters on the fly. i will probably make a 3rd preset to control a resonator patch completely.
so many more possibilities...nice thing about live is having plug-ins like eq available but not enabled, so they are there if needed but if not they don't eat any cpu.
all this control so far and i've only used up to 5 presets if i add the resonator control patch. i think there's up to 64 presets each.....
these controllers are dope.

Could you explain how this works, if it's unique in any way? I'm still holding up my FCB1010 footpedal up to my ear, trying to figure out how to program it...

Do you think the action and size of the knobs are realistic for manipulation whllst drumming? I sort of feel like faders might be to easy to push too far, thus unforgiving.

In that case I'd say the BCF 2000 (whilst I own a BCR2000) but this is the Behringer Controller I'd really like to get...

Wow. I love how this covers most of the ground that Hawton's Allen & Heath controller does, but probably for under 5 if not 400USD.

Didn't realise how fully suited it was to Live till I looked at the manual. Everything's MIDI enabled it seems, and you could probably buy ten of these for the price of a Xone:3D. May well be my third piece of Behringer kit to complement the BCF and BCR I've already got. If you'd have told me 18 months ago that I'd be a fan of and repeat buyer of their hardware I'd have laughed in your face.

In a rising indecision and (very rare) burning credit card syndrome, i bought both. And a b-control Nano too for spare use with Live and laptop...
they seem great units to use but the awful thruth is I bought them to see faders moving and leds blinking. Maybe DK can share a template...

One thing I discovered is they are quite different beasts, apart from the mackie control protocol available directly on the bcf but not on the bcr... the bcr has TWO "switch" inputs on the back, while the bcf has one switch and one continuous controller. Thus Bcr accepts two mono input pedals or one stereo one (i use the v-amp one and it works - one pedal controlling tap tempo and one enabling recording), and the bcf one expression pedal for example and one switch.
They just seem made to be bought together

Hi, I am an inch away from buying the bcr, but I need to know if this can run in mackie emulation successfully through lc xmu or other (perhaps direct or preferred manner.)

still haven't made that purchase. I wonder if anyone could share their prefered methods of running the BCR in MCU emulation mode.

Well, since you already own LC Xmu, I'd use that. But I would say that, wouldn't I?

It has to be the bcr. So affordable and flexible. also great for controlling hardware. Nrpns too. it can even control volume paramaters in my zoom sampletrak. Anyone owning one of these will know how unaccesable this is. Buy one.Now.
