5.0.3 crashes all the time

There's a thread in KVR about this. Thanks to Headquest for pointing out that naturally the issue should be brought here, as these forums don't seem to reflect any particular issues with crashes - yet I think it may be a general feeling among those of us who have this problem that there's not much to do but wait for another update, so maybe we've been a silent minority.
For me: 5.0.3 crashes in average every hour - on a good day. It seems to happen for any number of reasons, even loading audio files in a new set, using no plugs. Fortunately the auto-recall works pretty well, so I haven't lost any big amount of work so far. I'm on OS 10.3.9. I'm wondering if it could be related to having other apps open at the same time, like in my case often Safari and Band-In-a-Box?

i have also had a few crashes with 5.3 and also think it was due to other applications being open at the same time, msn messenger (live really seems to not like this being open) & firefox. I didnt bother posting or reporting it as the reply would probably be 'dont have other programs open at the same time then'.
It seems like Live needs to be in the foreground in order to open properly, for example if i click the icon to open live then click to go back to msn or firefox while live loads, live crashes. This happened about 3-4 times once.
I know that i shouldnt have these programs open at the same time & that it is probably official not recommended but i do find this strange & worrying. Ive never had the same problem with any other app (audio or otherwise).

Live 5.03 keeps hanging with CPU consumption at 99% a lot here lately - have to restart the computer then. But it's mainly one project with lots of VSTs and VSTis that i'm working on at the moment so not sure if it's really a Live bug or a rogue plug-in...

Live 5.03 crashes often when finishing a freeze. I do not know if it depends on certain vsti, I will have to track it down.
The other crashes I have is when using certain vsti, (lots of them), I remember that pop ups selectors in the vsti often make live crash.
Sorry if I do not have more details. Luckily Live5 keeps me busy making music most of the time.
I have the same problem

i DJ every weekend with Live 5.03 / Powerbook and i have the same problem.
I hoped 5.03 will solve this problem, but yesterday the same thing happend after approx. 70 minutes of djing. Heavy dropouts and only rebooting helps, and that
during the gig...
After one hour this problem occurs and i don't know what to do.
You guys from ableton should solve this problem asap because it's nearly
impossible to do a gig with LIVE!

Hi folks,
I surely understand how painful crashes are but to solve them or at least to know what happens we need as much information we can get about.
Additionally if you are on a Mac you should provide us always with the system crash log of Live:
"/Users/USERNAME/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Live.crash .log"
Feel free to mail me directly. If possible with your forum name and and the link or name of this thread.
regards,
/Alex
It's not a crash in that sense

Hi Alex,
It's not a crash in that sense that it completly stops.
It's that the glitches come so often and so heavy (after an hour)
that i have to quit Live and reboot.
So i don't get a crash report.
But i will try to find out what the problem is. Thanks.

I get spikes up to 150% CPU when morphing in some Reaktor5 ensembles. Especially the Sound generators.
This is repeatable and i have saved the Live set.
live 5.0.4 pleeeaseeeeeee.
surely there are enough serious bug fixes and known issues to push out a maintenance release?

Hi Cache,
I get spikes up to 150% CPU when morphing in some Reaktor5 ensembles. Especially the Sound generators.
Have you tried to increase the plug-in buffer size from the Plug-in section of Live's preferences?
How does it behaves when you run Reaktor standalone?

Crashing help.
My Live will crash at random, can never duplicate the crash, and no crash log is created. It crashes doing various activities. Most times I cannot even open a files that I created a couple of days ago.
