I was just wondering if any of you know of any visual programs that can sync to Ableton Live V.5.
Basically I want to be able to create my own visuals and have them sync to the different loops or tracks that I create in Ableton.
Any ideas??

if you're doing mostly video jockeying and effecting, there are a host of options, arkaos, modul 8, grid, grid pro.
But if you truly want to make your OWN visuals, shoot for jitter.

Jitter will sync to whatever you make it sync to.
Midi clock, midi, audio, whatever.
Its basically a graphic programming language.
You can do ANYTHING you can imagine.

Quartz Composer is also a fun one to play with if you're on a Mac... it's included with the Developer tools and thus free.
Will sync to audio / midi clock / notes / cc messages.

Question about Quartz Composer,
This is included in the XcodeTools.mpkg on the system install dvd? If so, which part of the package do I install to find this? I may want to avoid installing the whole package so a custom install would be great.
If not, where do I find it?
Thanks in advance.

It's in Applications > Graphics Tools.
Another good one with the Developer Tools is "Repeat After Me". All sorts of fun FFT text-to-speech-to-music phonetic madness. That's in Utilities > Speech. Haven't seen much online about that one yet, but it's cool...
You can also use Quartz Composer to make your own screensaver. The fun just never stops.

Got it. Thanks man! I just had a great deal of fun with that. No experiments with midi yet, just making images bonce about randomly, with the random module thing controlling x, y and scale. Interesting the way you connect cables and all, kind of reminds me of plogue. I googled quartz composer and wickopedia compared it to max.
Looking forward to getting into this and will definitely check out the other one.
