If you can record from vinyl (or CD DJ deck), you can try beatmatching the acapella to a drum loop in live. When you get it right, you can go back to the beginning and record the vocal in live. You might have to do a little moving of the warp markers later, but it should be close for starters.
For a file thats already on your hard drive, ive been doing this:
1. Turn off loop and warp in the samples properties.
2. Try to find a downbeat that the vocalist sings on, and put the selection markers start point there.
3. Load a drum loop in live, and press play. It should start OK, but might drift out of time after a while. Move lives tempo control to get the drum loop syncing up with the vocal.
4. When youve established the correct tempo, let the vocal and beat play together and take note of how many bars the complete vocal is at that tempo.
5. Turn on loop and warp and put a warp marker on the 1, and on whatever measure you counted in step four.
6. This should be close. You can then move the warp markers if the vocal is too fast or slow. Sometimes you might have to place additional markers, but probably not too many. but I believe this way is quicker than trying to place a warp marker every four bars or something.

I just finished one yesterday. I opened the original in Sonar and placed markers by tapping F11 while th file played. I then split the file in 4 bar increments THEN brought them into Live to adjust warp markers. With the smaller clip sizes it was a LOT easier to warp to time.
Hope that helps, Breezy.
