A couple of group buys

Hope this is ok here...here's a couple of group buys I found over on kvr...

First one is on esoundz for Sonic Reality's new Studio ProFiles...demos sound really good.
Studio ProFiles are new sound libraries made by Sonic Reality and JoyTown Productions. They are 24 bit multitrack and stereo loop collections were each title "profiles" a certain musical artist such as drummers (John Blackwell, Danny Gottlieb, Jerry Marotta, Nick D'Virgilio, Ed Greene, Steve Gadd... these drummers have played with artists like Prince, Steely Dan, Genesis, Pat Metheny, Peter Gabriel, Cameo, Lauren Hill, Barry White, Paul Simon, Sting...) or a certain style of music such as the sound of Motown, 60's Soul, Classic Rock, Progressive Rock, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Jazz, Big Band, R&B, Hip Hop, Rockabilly, Funk, Latin grooves etc.
This GB is for a "special edition" with over 4gb odf drum loops. BUT you get full credit to get the "ProFile" title of your choosing when the regular versions get released.

Second one is for Wave Arts plugs and is actually *cough, cough* an LUG gb...plugs are nice though!

I have trackplug and masterverb (power couple, couldn't resist the extra 75 bones for the verb) and just got them about a month ago.

I'll put it in for trackplug5..........this is "bonifide" must have because of the eq and the limiter and the fact that at 24/96 I add on about 1 to 2 percent CPU.....PER INSTANCE! That my friends.....is practically unheard of. The compression is good, but it's the other things I mentioned that are "sock knocker-offers".........

Masterverb is ok, but I would not pay more than the 75 I paid. It's tremendously light on the cpu, but it's not knocking my pants off .......yet anyways.

I hated that multi and the masterlimiter........maybe I did something wrong. I use the sonitus, left over sonar, with the ffx4 dx/vst converter and it's really good...so maybe I just didn't play with them enough.

The new panorama is VERY intreaging........I have not joined/signed in for the groupbuy yet........cause with lug you are locked in. But I might

Well, the Wave Arts plugs are almost at 50% off!!! I'm pretty sure that one will make it.

If you're on the fence about the Sonic Reality Studio ProFiles, I encourage you to check out the demos.

We could get this down to 79 bucks for 4 gigs of outstanding drum loops!

Here's a little something interesting that might kick this up a bit...

I'm not one to follow drummers that much (guitars are my thing) so the names didn't mean much to me...so, I did a little bit of research and here's some links to the artists web sites or discographies:

Steve Gadd has pretty much played with every major artist on the planet and in every style known to man and a few that aren't.

Bill Bruford - Yes, King Crimson among many, many others.

Ed Greene like Gadd has played with everyone in the world except me so far and in all kinds of styles. This page is about the Steely Dan drummers and says
And the drummers? Jim Hodder; Jim Gordon, Jeff Porcaro, Hal Blaine, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Steve Gadd, Paul Humphrey, Rick Marotta, Jim Keltner, Ed Greene-some of the most influential drummers of the last twenty-five years. Songs like 'Peg' with Marotta or 'Aja' with Gadd are etched into the collective consciousness of millions of drummers.
Note Steve Gadd couldn't even stay outta this quote

Jerry Marotta - Peter Gabriel, Elvis Costello, Hall&Oates, Sarah McLachlan, John Mayer, Rick Springfield...Rick Springfield? Ok, it was only one record, we all gotta eat.

Nick D'Virgilio - Peter Gabriel, Tears for Fears, Genesis, Kevin Gilbert, Sheryl Crow, Manhattan Transfer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Eric Burdon, Spock's Beard, DeBarge  ...DeBarge? Nick, buddy, DeBarge? You played with Eric Burdon and still took a gig with DeBarge? I understand the Jennifer Love Hewitt thing but DeBarge? Hope that cash was good

Cyrus Bolooki - New kid on the block...he's too young to have played with a ton of artists but Squids picked him along with the rest of these guys so take a guess why he's here ;) Check out their stuff on iTunes...

John Blackwell - Patti Labelle, Prince and the dude played with Billy Eckstine when he was 17!

Danny Gottlieb - Pretty huge discography here too. From the Blues Brothers and Booker T and The MG's to Al DiMeola and Pat Metheny with some Wayne Shorter thrown in for good measure. I chose to ingnore the Neil Sedaka record as an aberration...looks like they all had one or two sneak on the list :D

Anyway, check out the links...after I looked this stuff up, I got incredibly psyched!

It's over 200 now and the deal is this:

Full credit for the $79 bucks against a new title of your choice.

You get the Files to load into Live (and PT sessions and Cubase and files to use with other hosts) with all the mic placements etc...even rex files with the midi files to boot!

You get an iMap drumkit (Kontakt for sure, maybe HALion and EXS24.)

You get a
Danny Gottlieb drum stick that has been played with some classic jazz or rock band such as Pat Metheny Group, Blues Brothers, Sting, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock or even Gary Sinise!
If it hits 300...they'll throw in something more!

Again, if you haven't checked out the audio demos or the NAMM demo:

Studio ProFiles are 24 bit multitrack, stereo and multitrack rex loop collections and kits. Each title "profiles" a certain musical artist.

The first release, a "Special Edition", is the one in this GB. It focuses on drummers such John Blackwell, Danny Gottlieb, Jerry Marotta, Nick D'Virgilio, Ed Greene, Steve Gadd and Bill Bruford (and some that I probably missed!).

These drummers have played with artists like Prince, Steely Dan, Genesis, Pat Metheny, Peter Gabriel, Cameo, Lauren Hill, Barry White, Paul Simon, Sting and Eric Clapton.

Future titles will also feature a certain style of music such as the sound of Motown, 60's Soul, Classic Rock, Progressive Rock, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Jazz, Big Band, R&B, Hip Hop, Rockabilly, Funk, Latin grooves etc.

I'm not sure BUT I think there's a few of these on the "Special Edition" as well. It's over 4gb's!

AND the GB is at the bottom price of $79 which gets CREDITED toward the purchase of a full title! The "Sepecial Edtion" also comes with a playable kit (might need Kontakt or HALion, not sure.) It's up around 260 in the buy now and if it hits 300, Dave Kerzner is going to throw something else in!

Here's a link to the video:
http://sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=2665#

If you watch it, you'll get in on this...it's amazing!

Here's a link to the GB:
http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... uctID=1341

If you do get in, you can refer me, beergeek and we both get $5 credit on esoundz toward a future purchase, say, one of the full titles?
That means you will actually get $84 credit towards a full title!

And if you don't want to refer me for some unknown reason...please refer one of these others who helped to make the GB a success:

telebunke
harmonygardens
redwinger
beardedone
falterego

I apolgize if I left anyone out!

In order to see how exciting this group buy has been getting, I would like to post a breakdown of the bonuses that have been added to the group buy since it began.

Thanks, Mark (RedWinger), for the following post you made in another forum:
RedWinger wrote:Bonus 1 -- Full credit of purchase price toward purchase of full title (later expanded to be any one of Studio ProFiles, Infinite Drums, or R.A.W. titles)

Bonus 2 -- Bonus multi-track REX files (was there also something about a bonus refill that I missed?)

Bonus 3 -- Multi-track playable drum kit with expanded iMap in Kontakt2 format (maybe Halion and EXS formats, too?)

Bonus 4 -- Danny Gottlieb drumsticks for first 200 signups

Bonus 5 -- Qualify for cross-grade to Studiophonik

Bonus 6 -- Download (now maybe on a a 2nd DVD) of 50 REX files from R.A.W. series

If it gets to 400 -- drawing for signed Danny Gottlieb cymbal, maybe drum heads signd by Nick D'Virgilio or Jerry Marotta; and some other surprise for everyone

I think that's everything, but I may have missed or mis-stated something. If so, someone please jump in and correct me.

Cheers,
Mark
Oh and BTW, we are at 373 signups.

Keep up the great work, guys! :D

Here is an update to the bonus list (thanks Mark AKA RedWinger for starting the list), which has a few more additions.

------------------

GROUP BUY BONUS LIST:

Bonus 1 -- Full credit of purchase price toward purchase of full title (later expanded to be any one of Studio ProFiles, Infinite Drums, or R.A.W. titles)

Bonus 2 -- Bonus multi-track REX files

Bonus 3 -- Multi-track playable drum kit with expanded iMap in Kontakt2 format (maybe Halion and EXS formats, too?)

Bonus 4 -- Danny Gottlieb drumsticks for first 200 signups

Bonus 5 -- Qualify for cross-grade to Studiophonik

Bonus 6 -- 50 REX files (either downloadable or included on the DVD) from the upcoming R.A.W. series

Bonus 7 -- Session files for Live 5 (with warp markers) and Sonar. This is in addition to the session files already included for Cubase, ProTools and Logic

Bonus 8 -- Format support for AppleLoops, and ZGR files (made with Beat Quantizer)

Bonus 9 -- Reason 3 ReFill including multi-track loops, plus a new Combinator (with mic control, a full mixer, and mastering effects assigned as inserts). A multi-track drumkit may be added

Bonus 10 -- Enough extra sound files and formats to possibly span 2 DVDs instead of the original single DVD

? BONUS 11 ? -- If it gets to 400 -- Drawing for signed Danny Gottlieb cymbal and drum head, maybe drum heads signed by Nick D'Virgilio or Jerry Marotta; and some other surprise for everyone

? BONUS 12 ? -- If it gets to 500 -- Possibly limited-edition Studio ProFile T-Shirts randomly given out with some orders

-----------------------

Also, due to the expansion of the material and sound formats now being included, Sonic Reality will extend the deadline to around the beginning of next week.

Hopefully by Monday, there should be a finalized deadline in place. Right now, they are aiming for shipping to begin on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week and they want people to signup up until shipping begins.

All good things come to those who wait (I know a few of you are anxious to get the discs NOW) and by waiting a few more days, we have the chance to attempt a new goal -- 500 signups.

If we reach 500, there is the possibility of some limited-edition T-Shirts being randomly included in some orders.

Cool!

:D

We have now reached 400 (actually, we are at 402)!

Now we just need 98 more signups by Monday in order to reach the 500 milestone and more added bonuses.

Great job!

Congratulations to everyone who signed up so far! :D

We are at 424 and it looks like we should see 500 signups by Monday.

Also, for others just tuning in, since we passed the 400 mark, random draws are being made now (and over the weekend) for some great prizes. People who entered the group buy have a chance to win:

- one of 10 drum heads signed by Danny Gottlieb or Nick D'Virgilio
- 1 cymbal (one of two hi hats, actually) from Danny Gottlieb
- the first 200 signups receive a Danny Gottlieb drumstick

Additionally, if we reach 500, then it has been confirmed that a limited number of t-shirts will be drawn (I am not sure how many, though). Some good news for those who do not get their name drawn for a t-shirt (if we reach the 500 milestone), if you are a Platinum member of esoundz, then you will automatically receive a t-shirt regardless of whether we hit 500 or not. If you qualify for a t-shirt, just contact esoundz and give them your shirt size (L or XL).

Again, congrats and good luck.

:D

Hmmm... that's odd. Over at the official Sonic Reality forum, the prez is allowing signups until Monday now.

Try this link: www.esoundz.com/details/viewDetails.php?ProductID=1341 and click on Join Group Buy.

Do you still get the error?
