hi all...
i was wondering how to import a midi pattern from somewhere else into live onto a midi clip. any suggestions?
i was thinking that i could load it into a sequencer vst and then cut and paste it. yes?
how do i get it into that little midi clip box for editing?!
thanks in advance.

Hey Brian,
what i have done b4 is to put some midi files into the LIVE library folder (look in MY DOCUMENTS folder 4 it) , then open LIVE and drag and drop the midi file from the LIVE browser into a MIDI track, resulting in a midi clip which will need a instrument to make any sound.
You could probably drag and drop from your desktop into a LIVE track if you resize the LIVE window, ive done it with audio files.
Then to edit it in the piano roll (i guess thats what ur after), you just dub click on it like any other midi clip and treat it like any other midi clips in live.
----------------------------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE; In your new midi clip, (piano roll>L/H side) u may need to set all bank and sub bank values within the midi editor to NONE so you can keep your new VSTi preset sound from reverting back to the 1st preset in it. Thats what i do anyway, and it works 4 me, and allows you to audition all your VSTi presets on it.
Hope this helps
