Problems w/ Live after Reinstall and upgrades

I just upgraded my motherboard and CPU, so I had to reinstall WinXP Pro. After getting the computer all set up again with Live and my plug ins, I'm having some lag issues with Live when trying to run my project files.
1) The project will load up fine, although it does seem to take longer, and appears fine in the session and arrangement views. But when I push play, or try to launch from different locations, it doesn't play at all. I didn't have it hooked up to monitors since I did my set up and install away from my desk, but I would assume to see it playing, just w/o sound obviously.
2) When I try to close my project, it takes really long to close. A couple of times it seemed to have frozen, or showed a not responding message.
Also, a little more detail for what I did prior to this:
1) 2 days ago, reinstalled new hard drive since old one was showing signs of going out.
2) Live was still running fine on my old mobo and cpu with new hd, very slow and laggy when running a lot of tracks (which was the reason for upgrade). Was running a P4 1.7 478 chip w/ intel mobo.
3) Yesterday, got a new ABIT mobo 775 socket, and a P4 3.0 w/ HT. Installed that, computer runs fine w/ WinXP Pro after fresh install. All of my music files are stored on my second hard drive, first hard drive is for the OS and apps.
4) And now, the issues with Live as mentioned above. I first installed 5.0.3. Noticed the lag, so uninstalled it, Installed 5.0 from my actual cd. Then installed the upgrade to 5.0.3....Same results, and now I'm here. Live runs, its just seems way to sluggish, especially with what I'm running now.
Any help, advice, suggestions, etc... would be greatly appreciated. I have gig this weekend that I need to finish a song for, so I hope I can get this fix ed ASAP. Thanks in advance.
