How can I prelisten to Tracks, while I am DJing with Live 5?

Is there a way to do this?
Because it might happen that you are rocking the crowd with a track and just need another very special track that would fit great for a fade, but you forgot to load that track into Live before. So is it possible to load a track and adjust its markers and everything while listening to it, without anybody hearing it?
Would also be nice if you could activate the metronome for that track without anybody hearing it...

There's really only one answer to your problem.

You need a second sound card/device.

You can consider your computer's onboard sound one device, then use either a USB (any of the M-audio or similar) /Firewire (presonus comes to mind) as a second device for cueing.

For PC users, this is an excellent solution...

If you want to get really fancy, you should consider one of the new USB DJ mixers, that's the way I would go.

Okay, hope this helped,

I can't believe that there is no option of routing to solve this problem!

I have the E-MU 1820, which has 4 outputs.
So what would be a good routing?

After all I found out how to manage some real good prelistening with Live.
With ONE soundcard!
All you need is a soundcard with two outputs.
Metronome on the left ear and new track on the right ear is just one possibility while the audience is listening to another Clip...
