Trouble when rendering audio

I've always rendered audio fine in Ableton... and never had a problem up until last week;

I tried to render a whole track as normal. Then when I play back the recorded track, the first beat sounds fine, but then immediately the next one sounds distorted.. or clipped. (it is not in fact clipping when you examine the waveform)

No, the track is not clipping at all in ableton, nowhere even in red. I tried turning the whole thing down to a tiny level, but the same thing happens. I'm not using any VST's or the ableton compressor.

Resampling works fine, and that's what I've been doing since. But I'd like to be able to render again. I did not make any system chnages or updates. Still using live 5.2.

Anyone else having the same problem?

this is common problems. it is strange. I rendering good then for no reasonings rendering become bad??, then good. It is no explanation but maybe I have idea. Its is not bugs it is live has problems with cpu so causing random things. the D light always blink red for me even if I have only 2 trackings. Is not normal. Drop out of audio is everyday now it never was like this. Sorry to not be of help to you. many peoples claim to have perfect system so this is strange I have pc and mac and they are both have problems. I hoping live 5.3 fix all this. So sad it is not so I give up the mission really and wait to hope live six become the softwares it can be.If not I have to leave to find other not broken softwares

IMPORTANT I fix a small problem I having. I record to 160gb drive. It was holding 123gb audio. I back up to copy 80gb from drive so drive only have 60gb. I notice 10% improvement in audio tracking count. A near full hard drive cause big problems for ableton live I thinking :)

also you can try rendering without sound card... just select in options
-no audio ;-)
