I am new to Midi and Ableton. I have a M-Audio Oxygen 8 I am using. The drivers are installed correctly. But it doesn't work in Ableton. I think I may have the preference settings wrong. Any help please??????

does it appear as a device in the preferences midi tab? there you can choose whether you want to use it to track (play notes), sync, or as a remote (control faders, knobs, etc)

It has the remote, sync tabs.

well if you just want to play instruments with it, then enable 'track' only - deselect sync and remote
you'll also need to select 'in usb-keystation' or whatever from the midi input menu of your midi instrument track

Can I use the Midi to make mixes too? thanks for the help so far.

yeah in that case, you have to enable 'remote' as well. then you can assign the knobs, slider, pitchbend, mod wheel (and keys if you need to, although this might get tricky if you are using it to play synths or something)

Have you checked if the Oxygen 8 is connected to the USB port of your computer?
